If your company name contained an ampersand — “Your Home Offer & exp Realty” —
Sure Send was storing it as & and showing that raw text in the compliance
footer at the bottom of your automated and campaign emails. Your customers saw it.
Correcting the field by hand didn’t help. Every save re-encoded the ampersand,
so the name reverted the moment the page was refreshed and there was no way to
fix it from the settings screen.
What changed
The clean-up step that runs when you save Email Compliance Settings strips
unwanted formatting from your company name and address. It was also converting
the & character itself, every single time it ran. It no longer does.
Your company name, address, city, state, and postal code now save exactly as
you type them, and appear that way in email footers.
Already-affected names
Names that were stored incorrectly are repaired separately — you don’t need to
re-enter anything. If you’d previously worked around this by typing something
other than an ampersand, you can now change it back.
Protection against unwanted HTML in these fields is unchanged.
